Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal data IoT Financial collects through iotfinancial.net and how it is used.
Who we are
IoT Financial is operated by Contango, which is the data controller for the personal data described in this notice. You can contact us about this notice or your data at hello@iotfinancial.net.
What we collect
- Email address. When you subscribe, download the template or ask to be notified about upcoming documents, we collect your email address and which form you used.
- Anonymous usage data. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which pages are viewed. It does not use cookies or similar storage on your device, does not track you across other sites, and only reports aggregated, anonymous data that does not identify individual visitors.
- Tool inputs. The calculators, questionnaire and policy generator run in your browser. What you type is not sent to us.
- Emails you send us. If you email us, we keep the message to reply to you.
How we use it
We use your email address only to send the newsletter, the item you asked for, and a note when the upcoming documents are ready if you asked to be notified. We do not sell or rent your data and we do not use it for advertising.
Legal basis (UK and EU)
We rely on your consent to send emails. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in any email, or by emailing us. We rely on our legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used for the anonymous analytics described above.
Service providers
We use these providers, acting on our behalf:
- Vercel hosts the site and provides the anonymous page view counts.
- Kit (Kit.com) stores subscriber email addresses, records which form you used, and sends the newsletter.
- Resend sends the single welcome email after you sign up.
Providers may process data outside the UK, the EU or your state, under appropriate safeguards.
Retention
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe, then delete it within 30 days, except where a provider keeps a suppression record so that you are not emailed again.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, by emailing hello@iotfinancial.net. In the UK you can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office. In the US, residents of some states, such as California, have similar rights under state law.
